Smile is a respite facility for children with additional needs aged over 5 yrs. Parents or carers are welcome to stay for a coffee and a chat or take time out for themselves. The aim is to provide a friendly and fun environment for the children and to show Gods love in a practical way. Smile is a service that is open to families of any beliefs or none.
COVID-19 has caused us to temporarily close Smile until such time as it is safe for us to gather together. We know that many of our children are in high risk categories and whilst we'd love to host them, this may not be safe for many of our children. We also need to consider the fact that many of our volunteers work in the NHS or Care professions and that this may increase the risk of transmission.
We hope to re-start Smile as soon as it is safe for the majority of children. We will keep in touch with parents/carers and let them know as soon as we have a re-launch date. If you are new to the area or you would like to register a child to join us when we do re-open please see the registration section below.
Smile generally runs on the first Saturday of the month, except when this clashes with school holidays. January and August are intentionally omitted as there is no Smile meeting during those months. (NB. *denotes dates which have moved from our usual pattern)

What parents of children who attend Smile say:
We knew our son was well looked after, by kind, caring people who knew and understood his needs. It gave us a much needed break for a few hours.
I love Smile because it helps me to spend quality time with my daughter. I'm so impressed at how quickly my son has settled down and how much care the support worker gives him.
I think Smile is brilliant because my son has a great time while he is there and I can go and do stuff at home, which I might not otherwise get time for!
