We Are Moving!

On Sunday 6th April 2025, we will begin meeting at Trinity on Green Lane. Here is an update we shared which gives further details...

We're looking forward to gathering for the first time all together at Trinity this coming Sunday. Please can I encourage you to pray for us as a whole church, as we make this significant step and begin this new adventure together!

This article includes some updates about this Sunday and the weeks ahead, and will also try to answer a few questions relating to our current use of Trinity.

This Sunday
New Start Time: 10.30am
Address: Trinity Baptist Church, Green Lane, Derby, DE1 1RZ
We're planning an all age service which will include a time of worship, communion and a short talk for all ages. There won't be separate Creche, Frog Club or Youth running this Sunday!

Travel / Parking
Our later start time should help those of you who travel by bus. There is also plenty of parking nearby and a list of options is available here.

Derby 10k - 6th April
The Derby 10k is also on this Sunday and there are road closures in the North & East of the City Centre and London Road / Pride Park.

Here are some options depending on which part of the city you live:
• Littleover / Mickleover / Oakwood / Chad & North Derby - use Lara Croft Way, Uttoxeter Road, Burton Road or A38
• Alvaston / Chellaston & South Derby - use Osmaston Road or A38

Children's Work Venue - Ruth's Place
We're thrilled to announce that we've secured a fabulous venue just up Green Lane called 'Ruth's Place'. It's the perfect space for our children's group (Frog Club) and this will re-launch on Sunday 13th April. We'll open up Ruth's Place briefly after our meeting on the 6th so that Children & Parents / Carers can familiarise themselves with the building.

Easter Sunday - 20th April
Anthony Henson will be speaking on the Good News of Easter and our service will be followed by an 'Easter Egg' hunt in the garden, so please plan to stay on for that as we celebrate Easter together!

Transition to Trinity
Our wonderful serving teams have been hard at work behind the scenes preparing for this huge move we're making. As with any move there will be some teething problems and things which we'll need to work together to resolve. Let’s be gracious with one another and if you do notice gaps, consider joining a serving team and becoming part of the solution!

Ownership
As we begin to take ownership of Trinity please can we ask you to take care of the building and discuss this with your families. Any damage we cause, we'll need to pay for, so the onus is on all of us to take good care of this property which God is providing for us.

Upbeat Charity / Out of Bounds
Upbeat will initially still be renting the building and so their equipment will still be in place, creating some space issues for the time being. This equipment should not be moved or played with! This means some areas of the building will temporarily be out of bounds, whilst other areas will remain out of bounds due to repair & maintenance issues.

Safeguarding
We have a wonderful team of people who help to oversee safeguarding but this is something which is everyone's responsibility. Parents / Carers - your children are your responsibility at all times whilst in the building & should be supervised, except when they are in our designated children's programs. Should you have any safeguarding concerns, please contact: safeguarding@jubilee.org.uk

Fire Drill
We are planning to have a practice fire drill within the first few weeks at Trinity, this will help us look at how we cope with evacuating the building and allow us to make any additions to our evacuation plan.

See you at 10.30am on Sunday!
