On Sunday Kat reminded us that in Corinthians it says that all God's promises are yes in Christ.
Kat shares:
I woke up this morning thinking about promises. If you’ve not been with us, we've been talking quite a lot over the last few weeks about promises, God's promises over Abraham, God's promises over us and about how when God fulfils his promises, they're often not in the way that we expect!
The Nation of Israel was looking for a leader to lead them out from occupation and yet God sent a baby! And yet, in Jesus, every promise made has been fulfilled and whole generations of people have been saved!
I don't know where you are this morning, I don't know what promise you're holding on to this morning, but God is faithful. The answer to your promise and the fulfilment of that promise may not look in the way that you expected! I don't know what your thoughts of a building for Jubilee to move into next might have looked like, some kind of cavernous conference centre, Trinity does not look like that! And yet God has led us, and been leading us a step at a time into that. Next week we begin in this new season.
I just want to encourage you that the fulfilment of the promise as David preached the week is as good as already done but it may not look the way you're expecting it. But God never fails us, never holds out on us, never ceases to fulfil his promises to us so that we can sing with joy in the morning and joy in the evening, you keep me dancing” and that's not about happiness, that's about knowing who our God is and the certainty that we have held in his hand.
