The Great Divine Whisper - Advent Video Two

As we continue to think about the themes of advent the following spoken word celebrates Jesus' birth as the fulfilment of biblical promises and human longing. It invites you to find peace, hope and purpose in Jesus and to come and follow Him.

The Great Divine Whisper
Greater than the prophets heralded
The glory of the old house restored
A new wine skin not forged on tablets of stone
But written in flesh and blood, present.
Not just with us, dwelling in us
Right here amidst the mess

Jobs longings answered
Abraham's journey finished
Jacob's great hope
The answer to Gideon's cry
Samson's true might
David's one King
Isaiah's promise fulfilled

We look at our stories
Of struggle and strife
Does this hope
Answer our questions?
Do you know this heavenly peace?

Will this Christmas time be more?
More than the sum of it's parts
More than the gifts under a tree
More than the turkey, the mistletoe & mince pies

All these traditions speak
Of something greater
Something more mysterious
Wilder than our wildest dreams

A gift that lasts
A love that's stronger
A meal more fulfilling
A hope beyond the grave

Can you hear the divine whisper?
Welcoming you home?
The challenge in a babies face,
"Will you find rest in me?"
Rising to a crescendo asking
Will you come and follow me?

Lay down your sackcloth
Shake off the dust
Rejoice in the joy bringer

Hark they say, listen, can you hear it?
A story from of old
Capturing hearts and captivating minds

A story weaving through the passage of time
Now we see in part, then we will see in full

So come all you hurting
Come all you happy
Come all you grieving
Come all you who have questions

Come find your healer
Come find your joy
Come find your counsellor
Come and find the answer!
