As we were singing those words “I’ll make room for you, to do whatever you want to do”; I was pondering them and felt the Lord say; “well go on then”.
That wasn’t quite what I was expecting the Lord to say, I just felt that we should take a moment and pause and allow him to speak. As we’ve sung words of adoration, worship and praise, as we’ve sung words that say “I'm giving you room to do whatever you want to do” I feel our response should be to pause for a moment and say, “well, Lord, would you speak? Would you whisper words of encouragement, words of affirmation, and love, words that build us up and encourage us this morning.
We’ve spoken in recent weeks about honouring one another and encouraging each other and speak those sorts of words over one another. Listen, you know who the best encourager is? The Holy Spirit and just as Dave continues to play this morning, gently in the background, I want us to take a moment and pause. To say to the Lord, would you speak to me? Open your hearts to Him and say, “Lord, would you speak to me now and to expect Him to speak, to come and whisper words of affirmation, encouragement.
Come Holy Spirit we want to make room for you now, to do whatever you want to do, come Holy Spirit, come Lord Jesus.
“You are a chosen people, a Royal Priesthood, a Holy Nation, God’s special possession, that you might declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.
There’s something of this that God would say over some of you, actually He’d say it over all of us, but I think there are some this morning who need to hear this afresh. You are chosen, you are part of a Royal Priesthood, a Holy Nation, you are God’s special possession. Why? So that you can declare the praises of Him who calls you, out of darkness into his wonderful light, isn’t He good, isn’t it good!
