At the end of October Graham and Steve had the privilege of travelling from Derby to Chemnitz in eastern Germany to spend time with the church plant which we are supporting there.

Markus & Leah who lead the church plant there were hosting a prayer weekend and they joined with a number of people from across the UK including Derby, Stoke and other towns and cities. People from across Germany and other European nations also joined them for the weekend. One person had driven over 8 hours from Switzerland to join us!

On the Saturday they spent the day walking through the city visiting different locations and praying for specific situations and neighbourhoods. Then on the Sunday everyone gathered together for a large Sunday morning meeting in the new venue they are using, which was so encouraging!

Back in Derby the following Sunday Steve shared a few photos of the weekend and talked through what they'd been up to. He shared that he was so encouraged because he was actually able to meet many of the people who are involved in the work there, which he had been praying for, for many months.

It was wonderful to be able to put faces to the names of people who had asked for prayer in the past and to actually visit some of the areas of the city that he'd seen photos of in recent months. This will continue to fuel his prayer in the coming months as he is now able to picture the very people and locations he's praying for. During the weekend Steve made a point of praying for some of the local people in German which he said helped make his prayers really short!

One of the highlights was being able to worship in both German and English at the same time. On Sundays they project song words in both languages on the screen and it was wonderful to be able to sing some familiar songs in that way!

Both Graham & Steve were so encouraged not only to see Markus and Leah but also to see what God is doing in Chemnitz, to meet the growing team of people, both locals and those who have moved to be there.

It was also fantastic to be able to travel with Ruth, who is also from Derby. She came along when Markus & Leah were last speaking at Jubilee, heard their story and felt God speak to her about moving to Chemnitz and joining them. She's now in the process of moving, hopefully before Christmas this year. She was able to visit a flat that she is likely to move into over the weekend.

There is a real sense that God is doing a work and we’ll keep you updated with progress as we receive them.
