White Cliffs - The Wonder of Creation

I remember the first time we took our children to the white cliffs of Dover, and we went for a walk along the cliffs, and we were looking out to sea.

Alex climbed his way up to the top of one of the cliffs, as the rest of us continued walking along and as I looked back and saw him, he was just sat down and looking out across the scene that was before us and I thought, wow ok I need to join him, so I scrambled up the rocks to go and find him.

I asked him “what are you thinking about”, and he said “Wow, isn’t God amazing?” He could see the beauty of creation all around him and he was just in awe! He was full of that wonder, he was full of that “ohhhh!” that we’ve been talking about this morning. Look at God, look at the beauty of our God around us!

This just came to mind and I’m sure for each of us there have been moments where we’ve been walking through creation and we’ve just thought “WOW, wow, look at that sunset! Look at those colours, look at the beauty of that flower".

On another occasion, we were looking at an amazing sunset and Caitlin simply said “oh, God’s the best artist, look at those colours!” It’s true isn’t it, we simply say “Wow ohhh God how deep, is the wonder of knowing you, how deep is the wonder of your beauty! That we can look at creation around us and just see your wonder and your majesty and yet that is just a glimpse, that is just a glimpse into who you are, into your creativity into your majesty."

I want to encourage you to call to mind, call to mind those moments where you’ve been just awe struck by creation around you and gone “wow!”

Watch this prophetic encouragement here:
