I didn't realise we'd sing that song, but what Sandeep was talking about earlier about God doing the impossible has been rolling around in my head all week. I brought something last week about that as well (read / watch here), but I just felt like God speaking again. I think it's out of my own doubt. It's like I’m asking the question: “Are you really there?” or "Can we really expect that you'll be there, even in the midst of trials and difficulties” or “Can I, can I expect you to be there?” “Did you really say that?” “Did you really say that you'd be there?”
That's almost like the original question that the enemy comes at us with, it's the question he asked Eve in the garden. “Did God really say that?” “Did He really mean that?” “Did He really say that to me?” “Did He really promise that for me?”
Matthew 19:26 says, “with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Mark 10:27 says, “with man, it's impossible, but with God, it's not.”
Luke 1:37 says, “with God nothing will be impossible.”
Luke 18:27 says, “the things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
Deuteronomy 32:14 says, “He is the rock. His work is perfect all his ways are just he is a God of faithfulness without injustice, righteous and upright is he.”
Psalm 91:4 says this, “He shall cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find protection. His faithfulness shall be your shield and a wall of protection.”
So put on the full armour of God, put it on. Like Nik was talking about last week also as Jo said, “so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground and after you've done everything, stand.”
We're singing that song, speaking Jesus into situations, into sicknesses, into the lives that we're living, speaking Jesus, speaking hope, speaking freedom and I feel like God wants to say to us that “I'm the same God”, as I said last week, “I'm the same God”. These are the things that I've said, don't let the enemy lie into your ear that, that I haven't said these things. I do impossible things! I do impossible things! I'm the God of the impossible.
Lord, would you speak these truths into our hearts, Lord, as we sing these verses again. God, would you help us to apply them to our hearts, Lord, to remind ourselves of them when we need them. Lord, remind us of them God. Thank you that you've promised you'll never leave us. Amen.
