What is Revival? - Part 2

David Fellingham is a well known musician, worship leader, teacher and prophet within the Newfrontiers family of churches. He is considered one of our founding fathers and worked alongside Terry Virgo for many years as part of the leadership team at CCK in Brighton.

In this the second part of a two part series on the subject of Revival Dave continues to consider what Revival is and shows us that it is a theme which runs throughout the Bible.

The early church father Tertullian said “the cause of God has never been suspended, whether in revival or wilderness God has always been with his people”.

Although God’s plan may appear to be thwarted by unbelief or the disobedience his plans always continue, the Old Testament is full of examples of God renewing his people after periods of backsliding.

Dave continues by sharing some of his own experiences of Revival and those of his immediate family. Dave is privilege to have grown up in a family where revival was discussed and the impact of revival was felt from the his very early childhood. Dave has also experienced the impact of Revival first hand whilst in Korea in 1990.

You can listen to Dave share some of his family story and his experiences in this talk.

He finishes by encouraging us to pray, to seek God for a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit which goes far beyond anything that we could ever imagine.

He finishes by saying:

Revival is the only hope for the church and world, the cause of God has never been suspended, in revival or wilderness, God has always been with his people, in many ways our recent season has been a wilderness time, as far as people being saved is concerned.

An evangelical hymn said there shall be showers of blessing that ‘mercy drops round us are falling,’ and that has been true even through wilderness times, 'but for the showers we plead'.

So let’s believe God for the wilderness days to end and for the fires of revival to burn in our nation and the nations of the world, my conviction is that there will be a worldwide outpouring of the spirit and the church will be like that of the book of acts.

Passionate in prayer, vibrant in witness, flooded with the spirit and full of worship

"Hallelujah send the glory, hallelujah amen, Hallelujah send the glory, Hallelujah revive us again!”
