Street Pastor Coordinator

Due to retirement we wish to appoint a new coordinator to manage the Derby Street Pastors as part of the DCM staff team. The role is multi-faceted and involves: managing a team of volunteers, general administration and record keeping, financial budgeting, stakeholder management with key partners, the delivery of recruitment and training programmes, and providing pastoral guidance & spiritual support. To fulfil this role a competent level of IT skills is required as well as an ability to communicate with people at all levels.

The job requires a degree of flexibility as you will need to work occasional evenings and weekends and be able to respond to emergent team issues. Prior experience of the Street Pastor role would be helpful but is not essential. Ascension Trust who manage the Street Pastor organisation nationally provide training and support for the local Coordinator role. This role has a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the Coordinator to be a Christian, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010. 

  • Hours: 32 hours per week (0.8 FTE)
  • Salary: £27,000 pro-rata
  • Closing Date: Monday 28th February 2022, midday
