Book Review - Miracles in the Forgotten Land

Miracles In The Forgotten LandMiracles In The Forgotten Land & Beyond
Eighteen year-old Setan Lee was in shock as soldiers jumped out of huge trucks in Battambang Temple Square, shouting "Enemies!" and pointing guns at them. This was the New Year celebration and they had no idea why these "black uniform soliders" were ordering them out of the city at gunpoint to an unknown destination. Setan's best friend asked one of the soldiers why they were calling them the enemy. He answered with gunshots that left Setan's friend dead at his feet!

Thirteen-year-old Randa Yos was at home in Battambang with her family that fateful day when they heard shouting in the street, ordering people to come out of their homes into the streets. They had just learned that the black uniformed soldiers had taken her father from his office at the University. They and thousands of others were forced at gunpoint to march to an unknown destination.

That day began four years of slavery and starvation in the killing fields for thousands of Cambodians. The horror of Setan and Randa's lives during their imprisonment and how they finally escaped will hold you spellbound as you read their story.

"Setan and Randa Lee have an amazing story of faith. They continue to show an incredible love of their country as they spread God's love throughout Cambodia. Their organization, Transformasia, runs a day care for children who live in a city dump, an orphanage, a women's center, and a trade center. They are amazing people doing God's work in Cambodia. This is a great story of faith, hope, and love."

"I read this book in its entirety while on a long overseas flight. There were many parts that brought me to tears. It is graphic and tragic, but absolutely worth the read. It's written from the heart. There are some minor grammar typos and things, but that only makes the raw details and personal story all the more authentic. It's something that I've purchased extra copies of so that I can give them to people I know who are interested in helping care for people in devastated areas such as Cambodia."
