This news post is slightly later than usual, but this is an important time! This week is the Khmer New Year, but also Holy Week! Two important celebrations for the Cambodian Christians. We ask that you pray for all the Christians who will be with their families who do not yet know Christ. We are praying for their lives to be an example to the non believers, that they will "make the most of the opportunity" (Col. 4:5). We are seeing a slow, but steady growth in our churches. The testimonies of Christians are really impacting people in Cambodia.
Our church in Anlong Veng has undergone a little face lift while Pastor Khuna has a heart to share Christ with the whole community, making this church even more beautiful. His life is truly amazing. His sister once lived at our New Development Center in Kampong Chhnang. Being apart of our centers revolves around Jesus, and her life was forever changed. She was so excited about what Jesus did in her life that she would constantly tell her family. Khuna was searching for a clear path in life, so when he heard his sister's story his life was forever changed. She encouraged him to attend Bible college, and he did. He is now faithfully serving at our church in Anlong Veng, and the Lord has gifted him with learning languages. His English is wonderful, and we use him a lot when we need something translated (which we are so thankful and blessed to be able to do).
Spring is always so exciting, especially that we are now celebrating Easter. Holy Week is one of the most important times for us as Believers. This was actually the time of year that Setan would like to be in Cambodia. We ask that you pray for his schedule for 2020 that Setan will have the opportunity to share with Cambodians that Easter is another holiday that is vitally important to Christians. He dedicated his Christmases in the past to being in Cambodia, and they are now wonderfully prepared to run Christmas celebrations. Setan's heart desire is to be able to do this for Easter also.
And as we are speaking of Easter we hope that you will take time this week to celebrate with other Believers on what our God and Creator has done for us! There are so many wonderful, Bible based churches near you that we would highly recommend you search one out if you do not have a church home. As the New Living Translation says in Hebrews 10:25, "And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
