Umbrella have put together a list of the events which they are helping to host in and around the city of Derby. These Family Fun sessions are open to the whole family including siblings.
Fiona has passed on the following events which we wanted you to know about.
24th July - Life With Art - Family Fun Arts and Crafts. We are holding Family Fun Arts session with LifewithArt charity. Art tutors will help us to create art with papermachie, printing, collage, and lots of other resources. So get those creative juices racing and have fun together.
On: Tuesday 24thJuly 2018 from 10:00am to 12:00noon.
At: Northgate House, 46 Agard Street, Derby , DE1 1DF
Cost: This event is FREE so why not come along. You will need to book as the session is limited to 16 people.
28th July –Family Fun Picnic Shipley Park. We are holding Family Fun in the Park for the whole family, including siblings. Come along with your own picnic, explore the parks and take part in some of our activities. We will have bubble fun, sensory activities and crafts; enjoy the park and have fun together.
On: Saturday 28th July 2018 from 10:30am to 2:30pm.
At: Shipley Park Slack Lane Heanor DE75 7GX. Meet on the big field by the playground. Look for the blue Umbrella T-shirts!
Cost: This event is FREE so why not come along. You need to bring your own Picnic. It would be great if you can let us know if you are coming, we have a room indoors in case of rain, so we will be there what ever the weather.

14th August - Tribal Vibes - Tribal Drumming and Picnic. We are holding a tribal drumming session and Family Fun picnic for the whole family, at Rosliston forestry centre, Come along and take part in our Drumming workshop, lets find those beats, followed by a picnic in the park, weather permitting.
On: Tuesday 14th August 2018 from 10:45 am to 12 noon, followed by a picnic in the park
At: The Barn Room, Rosliston Forestry Centre, Burton Road, Rosliston, Swadlincote, Derbyshire, DE12 8JX
Cost: £5.00 per child/young person taking part in activities. Please remember to bring your own picnic.
20th August Cookstars lets picninc!. We are holding a cooking themed family fun session for the whole family. There will be a workshop with CookStars, who will be helping us to prepare a picnic, as well as a feely game, and craft activity, at the end of there workshop we will all get to eat what has been made....yummy!
On: Monday 20th August 2018 from 10:30 am -12:30pm
At: Chellaston Community Association, Barley croft, Chellaston, DE73 6TU
Cost: We are asking for a contribution of £5.00 per child/young person toward refreshments and activities, to be paid at the time of booking. We will be making the picnic and then eating it, so if you have a picnic rug bring it along, we hope to get outside if the sun comes out.
27th August –Family Fun day fundraiser for Umbrella. The White Swan pub,shepherd Street, Littleover, Derby. DE23 6GA. The white swan raise tremendous amounts each year that enable us to put on events like our wellbeing days, and family fun days, some of that money is raised at the family fun day On Bank holiday Monday, so call in and join them for some fun, don’t forget to pop by and say Hi to Umbrella staff supporting the day.

Rocks, fossils and wriggly creatures - Wednesday 25th July 2018
A chance to look at a world older than the dinosaurs!
A day of handling fossils, examining rocks and wondering at the life in the prehistoric seas that gave us our White Peak limestone! You might even go home with your own ancient rockpool to tend or fossil fish on a finger!
This is a Derwent Stories event, open to anyone but planned for and structured around families including children with additional needs
When: 2 sessions: 11am – 1pm and 2 – 4pm (come for either session – same activities repeated)
How: free, no need to book, and materials are provided, just drop by and join in
