Smile is a respite facility for children with additional needs aged over 5 yrs. Parents are welcome to stay for a coffee and a chat or take time out for themselves. The aim is to provide a friendly and fun environment for the children and to show Gods love in a practical way. Smile is a service that is open to families of any beliefs or none.
One of the parents of a child who has attended Smile for many years recently wrote us a lovely note to say thank you for all the support given. Here below is an anonymised version of the letter.
Dear all at Smile,
I just wanted to say let you know what has been going on with my daughter who has attended Smile. She is 18 this year, so we decided that it was time to begin intergating her into the adult world. I know she would be quite happy to come to Smile forever so it was a tough decision to make.
Fortunately, her Grandma helps out at a coffee morning on the first Sat of each month at our local church, and as she usually stays with her at weekends so it was a good replacement activity for her.
I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone at Smile, I know that she misses you and I miss the little chats with people I view as friends now.
I really appreciate all that you have done for her and I very much applaud Jubilee's dedication to organise this wonderful club which helps to plug a gap in this area of the community.
Wishing you all health & happiness and the continued succes of Smile.
