Rejoices Over Us

On Sunday Al reminded us that God rejoices over us with singing

Al shared:
In Zephaniah, there's a great passage of scripture that just says, “sing daughter of Zion, shout aloud Israel, be glad and rejoice with all your heart, daughter Jerusalem.” Those references to Zion and Israel and Jerusalem, that's us, the church, now, so we can take these promises. The Lord has taken away your punishment, He has turned back your enemy. The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you, never again will you fear any harm. On that day they will say to the church, do not fear, Zion, do not let your hands hang limp. And this is the big thing: “The Lord your God is with you, the mighty warrior who saves, He will take great delight in you! He will take great delight in each of you. In His love He will no longer rebuke you, but He rejoices over you with singing!”

I just feel this morning that sense of God wanting to say, as you come with all your weariness, with your joy, with your frustrations, with your struggles, you're coming to a God who rejoices over you with singing, who delights in you. He didn't save us because He had an obligation to do so. He saved us because He delights in us! He rejoices over us. He loves our company and as we follow him, as we come and spend time with him, as we enjoy his presence, it's not like he's going, oh, come on then, follow me if you must, you know, tag along and I'll see if I can, you know, teach you a few things.

He's like, no, come, I love your company. Come and be with me. Come and be with me! Even in the midst of the difficult stuff, God is delighting over us and that can help us walk through the difficult stuff because God is delighting over us. He's rejoicing over us. And if you don't know Him yet this morning, He still delights over you! He still loves you! He still rejoices over you and He says, come and follow me. Come and follow me. See what I'm all about, see what my kingdom is all about. This is a God who rejoices over us with singing.

Paul
Let's take that to our hearts. Take that to your heart. Some of us need to soak up, He delights over me. No matter what is going on, no matter where you are, that truth that God, Jesus, the Almighty, delights over you this morning. delights over you this morning. Lord, as we draw this part of our worship to a close, we say thank you, Lord. Lord, you're delighting over us and we've delighted worshipping and glorifying your name. Thank you, Jesus, for all that you've done for us.
