Faithful Promises

On Sunday Joe & Paul reminded us of God's faithful promises

Joe shared:
Joe shared: This morning I've been given a real sense of the reminder of God's promises and how he loves to fulfil those in us. As I walked in this morning, I was taken back to prayer meetings we've had for years and years and years even before COVID! We were praying for a building that would be welcoming, that we'd love to walk in the doors of. The doors would be welcoming to people and I have never walked into a building feeling as welcoming as I did this morning! The smell of bacon led me up into it, I walked in, it was a little bit smoky, but I saw everyone's faces smiling. Everyone was grinning and happy and the church was full 45 minutes before the service. If that's not welcoming, I don't know what is!

So, I just want to say, Lord, thank you. Thank you that you are the God that delights in meeting our promises, our requests, the things we ask for! Lord, we prayed and we prayed and we prayed and Lord, it is coming so true! Every prayer we put to you, Lord, is being answered. Lord, I just keep praying that you equip us to use this building, this place that we now call home, whatever way you feel leads us best, Lord. However, you feel it best leads us into the city to help others, to help the poor, to help the people your heart bleeds for, Lord. Lord, just bless this place. Thank you, Lord.

Paul followed:
It's really helpful to be reminded of his faithfulness, of how he just does so much more, so much more than we pray for! In Psalm 27 at the end, “I am still confident this, I will see the goodness of God in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart, and wait for the Lord.”

And here we are celebrating God's provision and how he's blessed us and how he's answered prayers. I just thank Joe for just how he saw the love amongst the people, more important than the smell of bacon and for some here this morning, you're waiting on God's provision. You're waiting on answered prayer, you're waiting for God in some challenging times and situations. As we wait on him, he never disappoints but sometimes the wait is longer than we'd ever thought it would be! That can be really challenging. But for those who wait on the Lord, he always meets you where you are. So, this morning, hear that heartbeat, as many here can testify that the Lord met them. in difficult times, as well as having great, great fun times with, yes, one another! Hallelujah! We thank you, Lord.

As we continue to worship, we bring those things to you, Lord, that are weighing heavy. The words what the Lord's given me is that he's the life giver. He's the life giver. He will breathe that life into your situations and your circumstances and your challenges. He will breathe that life into you. sustain you and bring you to a place of victory and healing and freedom. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. We receive that from you this morning, Lord.
