Jubilee is a diverse community of people with a passion to serve our city. Many of those who call Jubilee home are involved in serving our city through specific projects or charitable organisations. Below are some details about these projects and organisations.
Our current long term LoveDerby projects include: Middleton Lodge Services, Smile, Hope City Furniture, Faith, Hope & Enterprise and LoveDerby Baby Bags.
In Autumn 2023 we were invited by a care home in Littleover to provide a short Sunday service for residents. Many of whom are from a church background and the home wanted to make it easy for them to attend services. At least twice per month we host a short service where we sing well known hymns and a short message. We then spend time talking with residents and offer prayer for those who would like it.
We've also held a short Christmas serice and have been invited to take part in other community events at the care home. We now have many regulars who join us every time and it is wonderful to be able to serve this community and their families.
Smile is a monthly respite facility for children with additional needs aged over 5 yrs. Parents are welcome to stay for a coffee and a chat or take time out for themselves. The aim is to provide a friendly and fun environment for the children and to show Gods love in a practical way. Smile is a service that is open to families of any beliefs or none. Smile now runs as part of our LoveDerby Sunday's and so currently takes place 4 times per year on Sunday mornings. We expect that this project will continue to grow from strength to strength.
We knew our son was well looked after, by kind, caring people who knew and understood his needs. It gave us a much needed break for a few hours.

Hope City Furniture (HCF) is an independent charity based in Derby for the purpose of providing quality furniture to those in need, promoting the recycling and re-use of furniture, and facilitating voluntary work opportunities and training in furniture restoration
Their vision is to come alongside and assist/support those who have been rehoused due to experiencing a specific or unexpected crisis in their lives and who find themselves having to furnish a new home from scratch without the means to do so. The sorts of people they are able to support are those who are escaping domestic violence, refugees, homeless, short term financial crisis, prison release.
Most of the referrals relate to people who have been through trauma or crisis, often those who are lonely and isolated. The team aim to help build community and journey with people towards healing and wholeness, HCF partners with a number of different organisations to achieve this.

As part of our LoveDerby initiative and our ongoing support of Faith, Hope & Enterprise (FHE), we've had a number of intiatives over the years, including a food bank scheme, Christmas Offering gifts and we've also made zero interest loans to the Charity to enable them to purchase supported housing properties.
The Faith Hope and Enterprise Company Ltd. is a Registered Charity (1167974) which provides supported housing for some of the most marginalised members of society.
Their exclusion may be due to general homelessness issues, drug or alcohol misuse, former offending behaviour or mental health concerns.
They provide a range of mentoring and support services to help people build their confidence and self esteem. Residents have a regular programme of assessment and review with a variety of activities that help them develop their life skills.
For more information about Faith Hope & Enterprise visit their website or contact the church office.

We’re passionate about the church making a difference in the lives of people who live in and around Derby. We want to support the work of our local fostering and adoption teams by coming up with ways to support children and babies who are in the care system and their families. We would like to support them by providing a welcome pack for every baby who comes into care in Derby City. This initiative is being arranged with and supported by Derby City Council's fostering team.
Baby Bags
To do this we need your help! We’d love you to help us by either raising money or by donating the items which will go into these packs. We’re planning to purchase some high quality bags which will be a permanent gift for each child. In these bags we want to be able to include the following items:
Nappies
Baby Wipes
Baby bath wash
Toothbrush & paste
Baby Vests
Sleep Suits
A small toy / teddy
Bibs
Baby muslin
Formula / Food Pouch
A small gift for foster carer
GIVING ITEMS VIA OUR LIFEGROUPS:
We think that the best way to go about putting these packs together is through our small groups which we call LifeGroups. This will enable us to keep the costs for each pack low as people can buy items in bulk. If you’d like to get involved speak to your LifeGroup Leader.
