Thank you once again for all your help with LoveDerby!
Ashley from Derby City Council sent me this in an email . . .
Many thanks to you and the group for all your hard work on Saturday it was much appreciated. I hope the group enjoyed the afternoon in the sun. The Street Cleansing team also called me to ask that I thank the group for their help litter picking – and trust me they don’t give out praise too often!!
So thank you so much! I hope you all had fun serving our city!
We have been asked to oversee the garden behind the Quad, and maintain that, it would be great to get a core group of people who like gardening, or who are willing to help with this. If you could Email me back and let me know if this would interest you, also if you are free June 4th we have been asked to help pull out the flowers and plant in the herbs. If you are interested please let us know by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you once again! We are making a difference here in Derby!
Also those of you who have a T-shirt and have not yet paid for it, please can you bring £7 on Sunday, or post a check to the office (PO box 7736 Derby DE1 0RY)
A big thank-you to everyone who came out for LoveDerby today. We had a great time this morning giving out crème eggs and invitations to church – the eggs didn’t last long! And then this afternoon we had teams out litter picking in the City Centre and digging over the flower beds of the Sir Peter Hilton Gardens behind QUAD. It was great to be out on the streets serving the City and loving people. This is what Jubilee Church is about – making a difference in the City of Derby and beyond.
I was thrilled with the number of people who were out today – many of whom are new to Jubilee. I am so pleased that people have the caught the vision quickly and are keen to get stuck in and serve. Thank you all!
Saturday 16th April kicks of our first of many LoveDerby activities. We will be meeting at 11am outside St Peters Church. Location of St Peters
We will be giving out Creme Eggs to people shopping, and handing them LoveDerby flyers to let them know who we are.
Then at 1pm we will gather outside The QUAD and move on to our social action projects. This will take place right behind the QUAD at the Sir Peter Hilton Gardens. We will be litter picking and gardening, making our city look good!
We will have LoveDerby t-shirts available at the cost of £7.
If you want to be involved with any part of this day, please email Mel Lewis.
This will be a great opportunity to show Derby that we are here and that we love this city.
For those of you who made it to Sheffield this last weekend, we hope you had a great time!
For those of you who did not make it, you may be pleased to know that Terry\'s preach was recorded and is now available here at City Church Sheffield.
We hope you enjoy it!
